90 VTabs of Vitamin D (800iu), to provide a good source of this vitamin sometimes lacking in the diet and needed for a multitude of body processes, from bone and joint health to neuromuscular function. Sometimes called the ‘sunshine’ vitamin. Free from sugar, lactose, yeast, gluten and wheat.
Vitamin D is crucial for the proper absorption of calcium and potassium aiding the formation of healthy bones and teeth and maintaining neuro-muscular function. Vitamin D can either be obtained from our diet (natural sources are fish, milk and egg yolks) or manufactured by the action of sunlight on the skin. Unfortunately, because of our climate the number of cases of vitamin D deficiency is on the increase in the UK, along with an increase in deficiency related diseases such as rickets. This vitamin is especially important for people following a vegetarian and vegan diet.
